     Looking Ahead

Harvest Mission Festival
Harvest Mission Festival will be at Eden November 2-4 with the theme of “Sharing the Good News in a Changing World.” Our speaker will be Stanley Green, Executive Director of Mennonite Mission Network.  Green will explore the following topics during his time with us.

Is there still good news after the
‘good ‘ol days?’

Green will explore the various dynamics that impact the culture and shape
the beliefs, preferences, and/or worldview of people today. What does good news mean for people today and how can we frame it in intelligible and attractive ways that make sense?

Talking our Walk: Giving account of the hope that is within us
What defines the essence of Anabaptist identity? Peacemaking? Evangelism? Is there an intrinsic connection between being Anabaptist and being enthusiastically evangelistic (or, eager to share the good news)?

Nurture for Witness:
Claiming and Sharing our Story
A community that keeps the story alive and fresh and creates a climate in
which people are released, empowered and encouraged to connect their stories with the story of Jesus needs to be nurtured. How do we make that connection across the generations of the believing community and across the street with an unbelieving world?

Improving Our Serve

How do we practice effective evangelism? What stories can we share that inspire? How do we extrapolate from these stories what might work best in the
context in which we are called to share the good news?

Harvest Mission Festival includes the Sunday morning worship service, a more informal time in the sanctuary during Sunday school, a session Sunday evening at 6 p.m., and sessions Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Offerings at each service will go towards Mennonite Central Committee, Mennonite Mission Network and Western District Conference. A noon meal will be served in the fellowship hall on Sunday. Everyone is encouraged to attend and invite friends. Nursery services will be provided.
